What we did not realise is this is essentially a hostel with an aparthotel section next door in its sister company. On arrival we walked into the Mola Hostel reception area and gave our passport to the reception desk, after a few minutes she realised we were Mola Suites customers and told us to go next door (adjoining building). We arrived by foot at around 8pm having walked from the Madrid Atocha railway station which took us a slow 35 minutes (walking back to the train station on our leaving day was around 25 minutes due to it being downhill on the Calle de Atocha road). Can not be measured by star hotel standards, but overall the price is very high. It is worth mentioning that the waiter thoughtfully put a bag of cakes on the door handle in the morning, and it felt great.

If the weather is good, you can go to the elegant and clean terrace outside. There are also simple cookies and fruits to eat. There is a coffee machine that can provide a variety of hot drinks.

But the space is smaller than the hotel, not suitable for children. It's clean and tidy, with everything you need, two beds, small shelves, storage space, writing desk, and separate wet and dry bathroom. After entering, there is no reception hall of the four or five-star hotel, but there is a friendly, warm, warm and lovely reception desk, and the room will be available after going up. You need to pay attention to the b & b sign. The face of the door is very small, so small that you miss it accidentally. But it's not the standard four-star hotel, it's just an air b & b, where is the price, so you can't expect too much. Good location near the center of Madrid, convenient and quick. Let me talk about location and environment. Great all round hotel and amazing location. Didn’t find this a problem at all and could always get in the hotel when pressing the buzzer. There is CCTV to let you in when you ring the buzzer. Yes you do have to ring a buzzer to get in the building and to get in to your landing but this is good the hotel is in an apartment block like many others so this is for security and to stop people who aren’t staying here getting in. It was busy on the street but it didn’t keep us awake or bother us in the night we slept great. We had a room with balcony overlooking the square it’s so lovely at Christmas time as your looking right on to the Xmas tree. It is Located right in the city surrounded by loads and loads of shops and places to eat and 5 mins to Gran Via. There was a fridge on the room, A safe and Toiletries. Beds were really comfy and the room had central heating. The hotel is Old style but it’s perfectly fine it was very clean, yes it was small but we were only sleeping in the room didn’t spend hardly any time in there as was a shopping & sightseeing trip. You do have to check in at Hostal Victoria 1 but it is literally a couple of minutes away from Hostal Victoria 2. A good stay away (and I've stayed here before back in May) but I'm not sure I'd recommend eating here. they have ONE pepper pot for the entire restaurant? Based upon that presumption, I didn't eat there at nights (and each night I returned I noticed the restaurant near-deserted) so I'm guessing I didn't miss much. I didn't spot many condiments and when asking about pepper the waiter curtly replied ”it must be out”.

Breakfast was fairly basic but sufficient I wasn't expecting a huge mass there but the assortment of cereals, fruit, juices and meats (continental style) plus some Spanish touches set me up for the day. The bathroom was okay - clean and functional shower and toilet - with a sink outside this room adjoining a wardrobe, a different design to what I'm used to but worked fine. Wifi worked well up in the room (and down in the bar) but it was an annoyance there's no bedside power points - I ended up stretching a cable across the bed to charge my mobile devices. I found the room stifling at times, even with the aircon on (I kept it on a low setting just to make the nights a bit more bearable) but didn't realise until later I could have opened a window. My room had a roaring 20's speak-easy gangster feel to it initially dark upon entry (they keep the curtains closed) but the soft blue light and furniture all adds to the wall decoration and general room theme. Each time I passed by reception they were friendly and polite, a good sign for travellers to Madrid. Check-in was good - they had all my details, the receptionist spoke good English and everything was pretty well-organised. 0.94km from SkyNight Bar I thought this hotel was a bit quirky and original - a retro feel that's quite Clockwork Orange, but the whole hotel is film-themed so you're bound to find some tricky cinematic references around the place.
